Nicholas Ludmer, MD
he/him
Nick completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, and continued on to complete his fellowship in Global Emergency Medicine Medical Education at the University of Chicago. Dr. Ludmer currently serves as the director of the Global Health Track within the Emergency Medicine Residency, as well as the Assistant Director for the Emergency Medicine Global Health Fellowship. His academic interests include global health, with current work focusing on developing emergency care curricula for a group of primary providers in rural Chiapas, Mexico. He is passionate about pre and post-graduate medical education, and serves as the Assistant Director for Tissue, Cell and Organ Physiology Course within the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

Keegan Checkett, MD

Keegan is an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine and the Director of Global Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago, as well as a Consultant in Emergency Care for Partners in Health (PIH). In her global work, she specializes in developing emergency care education and training tools, and collaborations include the African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM), World Health Organization (WHO), and Partners in Health (PIH). From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Checkett served as the residency co-director for the PIH/ZL Emergency Medicine residency at University Hospital of Mirebalais, Haiti, the first EM residency in the country, for which she developed the full curriculum. She currently collaborates with PIH to develop emergency care training for sites in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
